I Might Get Eaten By A Lion!

I Might Get Eaten By A Lion!

A lion is walking across a grassy field.

Proverbs 22:13 shows God's sense of humor. It says "The lazy person claims, "There’s a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!"

To me, this Proverb is timeless. To me, the 'lion' translates into excuses. The lazy person is often blaming the 'lion' or excuses to not get things done.

What was the "big lion" of 2020-2021?

COVID.

But we can't just use COVID as the only excuse. There are other "lions" that keep us from being successful.

"Lions" like our kids, our job, no time, injuries....on and on and on.

It makes me think back to this awful timeshare presentation my wife got us signed up for.

A 90 minute presentation turned into 3 hours and I was over it.

I thought we were going to have to fight our way out if we didn't sign up.

Finally the big close came. In the close, there was one thing that the sales guy said that really stuck with me.

"When in life are the stoplights all green?"

This was a profound question that made me stop and think.

When ARE they all green?....NEVER.

Too often we let life pass us by. We miss great opportunities because of these perceived "lions" that stop us. But in reality, we are waiting for all the green lights and we end up stopping ourselves.

One of my favorite sayings is "Excuses are like arm pits: everyone has them and they ALL stink."

For most of us the reality is that there is not much time.

We have a window of opportunity to do meaningful things that will get smaller as we age.

It will really get worse if our health begins to fail.

In my opinion, one of the main problems for failing health is EXCUSES.

People put things off and make excuses until it's too late.

Until we've gained that extra 10 pounds of nasty body fat per year.

Until we lose 3-5% of our muscle mass (which happens to all of us after the age of 30).

Until we are unable to climb a flight of stairs without feeling winded.

All of these factors make us weaker and expose our joints to more problems.

Making it harder and harder to live the quality of life we deserve.

How much time do you think you have left?

How do you want to live your remaining years?

Is it time to quit making excuses?

Contact us to set up a success session where we can create an "excuse proof" plan for you that allows you to reclaim your health while balancing everything else in life.

Dedicated to helping you tame those "lions,"

A group of people are running a marathon on a city street.

Yesterday was the 40th running of the Twin Cities Marathon - The Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America! If you are like me, you stop everything to take it all in. Marathon Day is one of my favorite days of the year! A happy place! So much goodness packed into one perfect fall day! And yesterday was no exception! 34 years ago my friend and I were curious. What is the marathon anyway? It was hard to visualize people running 26.2 miles from the Metrodome in Minneapolis to the Capitol in St. Paul. So without the assistance of Google maps, runner tracking apps or cell phones, we headed to St. Paul to "find the marathon." We rolled down our windows, drove up the Snelling Avenue hill and listened for people cheering. Sure enough we found it!

This is a sign that hung in my college football weight room. It meant a lot to me. It's what motivated me to put in extra work and ultimately become a scholarship athlete and starting offensive guard on the football team. It wasn't always like that though. My life could have been drastically different - and not for the better.
