Look Through The Windshield Not The Rearview Mirror

Two people are sitting in a red convertible car with their arms in the air.

Isaiah 43:18-19 says:

"Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

I have a friend who always talks about his "glory days"

He's literally stuck in the 80s and NEVER talks about his future. Only his past.

Then there's another friend who still complains about injustices by her family in the past. She doesn't have good memories but for over the 20+ years I have known her, she is still bitter and using that as an excuse for where she is at in life.

What do these two have in common?

They are both stuck, letting their past keep them in a "proverbial neutral" never moving forward in life.

There is a reason the windshield in your car is much bigger than your rearview mirror.

Could you imagine driving only looking in the rearview mirror?

I guarantee you will get into an accident.

So why do we go through life like that? Looking in the "rearview mirror" all the time.

One of my good friends told me the other day a great quote.

"Don't let your past control your present to abort your future"

As I always say , it's not how you start but how you finish.

I'm sure you had great plans to get in great shape and conquer the world at the beginning of 2022. And maybe, like a lot of people, things haven't gone the way you had hoped.

What's done is done and you can't change the past. But YOU can change your future by the actions you take.

What are those "great plans" when it comes to fitness you still want to accomplish?

The year is not over. The bell has not rung.

You may be down but not out.

2022 is still your year, , so let's go seize it!

Reply to this email to set up a complimentary SUCCESS SESSION with me. Let's let go of the things of old in the rearview mirror and look forward in the windshield to the new great things you can and will accomplish in 2022.

Dedicated to your success,

Erik Peacock

P.S. Speaking of the past. Maybe you have been a yo yo dieter or used to be in great shape but the weight has crept up and you do not even recognize yourself anymore. 80% of your results comes from nutrition and this is where people struggle the most. I did a VIP MASTER NUTRITION CLASS last Thursday with some of our clients. You can watch it here.

I'm also opening up our BOD SQUAD SUMMER SLIM DOWN NUTRITION COACHING PROGRAM. I cover that near the end of the video but you can reply to this email or text/call me direct for more details on this program. We kick it off on Tuesday, June 28th.

A group of people are running a marathon on a city street.

Yesterday was the 40th running of the Twin Cities Marathon - The Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America! If you are like me, you stop everything to take it all in. Marathon Day is one of my favorite days of the year! A happy place! So much goodness packed into one perfect fall day! And yesterday was no exception! 34 years ago my friend and I were curious. What is the marathon anyway? It was hard to visualize people running 26.2 miles from the Metrodome in Minneapolis to the Capitol in St. Paul. So without the assistance of Google maps, runner tracking apps or cell phones, we headed to St. Paul to "find the marathon." We rolled down our windows, drove up the Snelling Avenue hill and listened for people cheering. Sure enough we found it!

This is a sign that hung in my college football weight room. It meant a lot to me. It's what motivated me to put in extra work and ultimately become a scholarship athlete and starting offensive guard on the football team. It wasn't always like that though. My life could have been drastically different - and not for the better.
